Fortune never makes man
rather one makes his own
making a tryst with destiny
doing nothing and
expecting things to come by
is nothing but
building castles in the air
Lived enough
in anticipation of the unseen
that never came by
cheated us of the dreams
once we dreamt
that never saw light
and died one after one
Never fair
to wait for that unusual shower
better to work and work
to give substance and meaning
to what we desire
Wiser
not to fool us anymore
and live on the whim of the other
much better to believe in one’s self
and carry that belief
in the efforts we put and the goals we cherish
for the dreams we dreamt
are to come by
